Gradually more and more ideas arise from and for different interpretations and directions for living spaces. To make my ideas more concrete and tangible, I develop them into different concepts that help shape and substantiate my vision of ‘living spaces’. This process of making not only inspires me to further investigate subjects, it also stimulates the sharing of these concepts and use them as conversation pieces.
Rooted No1 / Greenhouse is a concept for a ‘living’ personal or collaborative space that allows for both relaxation and deep work. without distractions. Combining two structures a terrarium-like void is created to house green and air purifying plants. By adding translucent electric glass and digital projection to the inner structure, a more intimate space can be created on demand. Connecting to a comfortable space is sometimes like taking root. From the moment you start working, the space adds to this connection by letting a digital layer of lush green plants grow all around you. Remove yourself (and your energy) from the space and the plants graciously disappear. Because plants and people thrive on natural light, the outer frame houses smart lighting that follows the real time intensity and glow of the sun, giving you a sense of time (and place).

Note: The photography used in my design, just like in a mood board, illustrates the feeling and atmosphere in my concept.
